Events played initially in clubs will incur an entry fee of 25p per player.
There will be a charge of £3.00, payable at the event, for players in the Chronicle Cups semi-finals.
Results of heats should reach the Tournament Secretary within three working days of the last date for heats.

Table money at all finals, (with the exception of the Deane Salver and Carpenter Bowl) will be £6.00 per player to include tea but not food. In the case of the Deane Salver and Carpenter Bowl a buffet tea will be provided at an additional cost which will be added to the normal £6.00 entry fee.

The Chronicle Cups Competition (Event No.1) is the NEBA Pairs Championship. Green points are awarded and the top four pairs in the final are invited to participate in the EBU Corwen Trophy, the fees for which are paid by the Association.

Heats are held in clubs and one pair will qualify for a semi-final for each four pairs who take part
in the heats. There will be at least three semi-finals and from the combined semi-finals, the top 24 pairs will play in the Chronicle Cup final, with green points awarded to the top 17 pairs.  The next 24 pairs will play for the St. George’s Shield.  Both finals will be held on the same day.

In events 2-4. the Gazette Cups, the Summer Pairs and the Kempson Vase, heats will take place in clubs and the qualification ratio for an appearance in the finals will be 1 qualifying pair/team for every five pairs/teams taking part in a heat.

Players are reminded that there is no limit on the number of heats of these four competitions in which they may play to qualify, and, as many players are expected to play in more than one heat, some will qualify more than once.

In such cases, priority in qualification should be given to that attained at their own club's heat. If that does not apply, priority should be given to the earliest heat. However, any player qualifying with more than one partner can opt for which partner to choose.
