The format of the
competition is that you and another pair play 24
hands of Bridge, Chicago style, i.e. the
vulnerability is pre-determined. You may use
bridge boards, where the vulnerability is
stated, or you may just use a normal pack of
cards, and deal each hand as you play them. The
vulnerability is as stated on your Chicago score
card, enclosed. (DV = dealer vulnerable, LA =
love all, GA = game all). After you have played
24 boards, you simply add up your totals, agree
them with the opposition, and then send 1 score
card from each partnership to me. This is
vitally important! I will then record your
scores. In the next round, the pair with the
highest aggregate score, will play the next
highest pair and so on. At the end of 5 rounds,
the pair with the highest total of aggregate
scores will be the winners, and will receive a
trophy and prizes. Also, the pair posting the
highest score in the last round will receive a
special prize.
Please remember
that there is limitation of penalties, as
outlined in the rules (enclosed). Also, honours
do not count.
1st round must be
played by 10th November and results
in my hands by no later than 12th
November.
Your co-operation in prompt result
reporting is vital in this competition, as the
next round cannot get under way until all
results are received. Also,
