The North Eastern Bridge Association organises
Duplicate Bridge in an area of England that extends
from Darlington to Alnwick and from Hexham to
Whitby. There are over 20 Bridge clubs
affiliated to the NEBA. Some of these clubs will
have their own teaching programmes and you are
advised to contact your nearest club to see if they
offer courses.
Beginners
For beginners, the game
IS difficult to learn but in return it will offer
you so much more in rewards to your social life and
mental health.
If you decide to play with your spouse, be sure that
the marriage is a VERY good one.
Murder has been
committed at the bridge table! (Well in the
bathroom)
Often the husband knows absolutely nothing
about the game while the wife plays twice as well.
If your local bridge club does not offer teaching,
the most extensive bridge courses are offered at the
centres shown above.
As a last resort there are bridge courses on-line
and bridge software that might get you started.
Best of luck!
Club Players
For Club players it is harder than you might think
to find classes aimed at improving your game.
One of our Grand Masters, Liz Muir does offer
private lessons to pairs who wish to develop their
bidding system.
If other experienced players wish to offer their
services, please contact me.
If there are gaps in your game, the five centres on
the grey menu bar each offer guidance in bidding,
declarer play and defence for club players. |
